While sitting at my hairdressers getting a haircut this morning I got to thinking, who looks after their dye jobs better?

Brunettes who go blonde or blondes who go brunette?

The girl who sat next to me had gotten her hair darkened to a stunning shade of chestnut, so straight and shiny, with no regrowth! (I swore it was her natural hair colour.) Until she started talking about how much her parents like her better with blonde curly locks!

What?!?

She had obviously looked after her hair properly. Which made me thinking, I don’t usually see much blonde regrowth on girls with dark locks. But I always see faux blondes with dark regrowth. Even if you are a naturally dirty blonde and go lighter, the dirty blonde regrowth is not a good look.

Reminds me of a ‘Patsy’ at work. With regrowth like hers I would sheduale in an appointment every 3 – 4 weeks, along with a conditioning treatment in the weeks between. But that’s just what I would do.

All I have to say is thank goodness I’d look hideous with any other shade of hair colour – because I never go to the hairdresser regularly enough! Though I do love my semi-bob-ish hair cut.

Or should I call it a “pob” ala Victoria Beckham?

  1. I’ve recently gone lighter and lighter (am channelling Carmen Electra!) and I’ve realized that I definately can’t let my hair go without a retouch anymore than 2 months. Just before Christmas I almost couldn’t get a booking and started worrying about my regrowth – everyone was reassuring me when I kept clasping my head saying “omg i don’t look like trailer trash do i????’

Needless to say, I saw a photo of Carmen Electra with a nice light brownish hair that I am thinking, might come along with me to my next hair appointment!!

  2. favorited this one, guy
